What is Store setup?
Store setup is the central configuration for a webshop in Optimus Commerce. It connects commerce functionality with the website pages and email settings used for products, baskets, checkout, and order communication.
What can be configured?
Store alias – An internal name used to identify the store setup.
Order confirmation recipient – The address receiving order-related notifications.
Order confirmation sender – The name and email address customers see on order confirmations.
Basket template – The template or route used to display the shopping basket.
Checkout template – The template or route used for checkout.
Product details template – The template or route used for product details.
Why is Store setup important?
Store setup provides the connection between the commerce engine and the website presentation layer. If a required template is missing or invalid, the corresponding customer journey may not open. Incorrect email settings can also prevent order confirmations from being delivered correctly.
Recommended practice
Use a clear alias, an approved sender email address, and valid published templates. After saving changes, test a product page, basket, checkout, test order, and order confirmation email.
What is Currency?
Currency is the monetary unit used to display prices and calculate amounts in the webshop. In Optimus Commerce, a currency defines how prices are presented and how currency conversions are handled for a specific market.
What can be configured?
Currency alias – The internal identifier, such as
DKKorEUR.Currency name – The full name shown in the backoffice.
Short name – The abbreviated display name or symbol.
Decimal reference – The format used for decimal values.
Currency rate – The exchange rate used when prices are converted.
Why is Currency important?
The selected currency affects product prices, order totals, payment information, and gift certificates. Currency is normally connected to a language and market through Culture setup.
Recommended practice
Use the correct ISO currency code as the alias, agree on a consistent decimal format, and verify the exchange rate before publishing prices. Always test product prices and the complete checkout flow after changing currency settings.
What is Language?
Language defines the language used by a webshop and its customers. It is used for translated product information, labels, messages, and order communication.
What can be configured?
Language name – The name used to identify the language in the backoffice.
Primary language – Indicates the default language for the webshop.
Language phrases – Translations used for product names, descriptions, SEO content, and system text.
Why is Language important?
A language makes it possible to serve the same webshop in several languages while keeping translated content organized. Orders also retain the language selected by the customer, allowing relevant emails and confirmations to be sent in the correct language.
Recommended practice
Create a language before adding its translations and choose only one primary language per webshop. Make sure important product content, checkout text, and customer emails are translated before making the language available to customers.
What is marked setup?
Marked setup is the area used to maintain the brands, or mærker, that can be assigned to products in Optimus Commerce. A brand gives products a recognizable identity and makes it easier to organize and present the catalogue.
What can be configured?
Brand name – The name displayed for the brand.
Description – Supporting information about the brand.
URL – The address used for a brand page or brand link.
Translations – Language-specific brand names and descriptions where multilingual content is enabled.
Why is marked setup important?
Consistent brand data improves product presentation, filtering, navigation, and search. It also prevents duplicate or differently spelled versions of the same brand from appearing in the catalogue.
Recommended practice
Create one brand entry per brand, use a consistent spelling, and complete the translated content before assigning it to products. Check the URL and brand presentation after making changes.
